I am an English language teaching professional specialising in academic English education and technology.
Academic English Specialist
My academic interest is in academic literacies and my Master’s dissertation research project is on the use of Generative AI-powered tools in academic writing instruction.
I completed a Master’s level English for Academic Purposes (EAP) course accredited by the British Association of Lecturers in English for Academic Purposes (BALEAP) at King’s College London in 2024. I went on to gain practical EAP experience through teaching the pre-sessional English course at the University of the Arts London in summer 2024.
I have worked as a Research Collaborator with Dr Ursula Wingate and Dr Chris Tribble on the ‘Supporting Students to Use AI Ethically and Effectively in Academic Writing’ research project at King’s College London funded by the King’s College Teaching Fund (2023-2024).
I am currently a Research Assistant to Dr Clyde Ancarno on the ‘Multilingual Education in The Gambia’ project which aims to enhance understanding of how English and the national languages of The Gambia can best be used to support children’s learning. I also work as an editor of the King’s Digital ELT platform.
